Overwhelmed? Try My 4-Task Rule
Yesterday, I resolved to wake up today at 5am for jogging. I even set alarms for 5:00am and 5:30am.
Guysss, I actually woke up at both times. What I didn’t do? Jogging. Why? Because I just didn’t want to step out lols.
(Quick side note: are we talking enough about how effective iPhone alarms are?? I literally sleep through Android alarms, but with iPhone? Omooo I’m up IMMEDIATELY. Is it just me or do you have this experience too? 👀)
Anywaysss, I’ll try again tomorrow and update y’all next week.
Now, Happy new week, Happy new month. September is here and it’s giving new beginnings vibes. Personally, it feels like it’s bringing ease in some areas of my life. So no polls today just reply this email and tell me what you’re excited about this September.
And as usual, welcome to another week’s edition of The One Thing Newsletter where I don’t have it all figured out but I still share: One Thing I’m Doing, One Thing I’m Learning, and One Thing You Should Try.
Shall weeee???
One Thing I Am Doing
Every day, I now write down 4 major tasks I must complete for my day to feel productive.
If you’ve followed august edition closely, you know I often say how overwhelmed and exhausted I get. That constant “mental overload” was really messing with my productivity.
So I tried something different: a simple 4-task To-Do list. Just 4. Nothing more.
➡️ I put my full energy into those 4 and if there’s still time left, I tackle other stuff.
➡️ If I don’t finish, I simply roll it over to the next day (like a report I was meant to write on Friday that ended up on today’s list).
It’s helped me feel wayyy less overwhelmed because those “unseen but known tasks” no longer hang over my head.
Bonus hack: when I’m assigned tasks, I now ask, “Do you need this urgently?” That way, I know exactly where to place it on my list.
So tell me, would you try this too?
One Thing I Am Learning
Lately, I’ve been learning to expand my options in certain areas of my life. And here’s something that’s becoming clearer to me:
Choices and options aren’t the same.
A choice is the decision i get to make.
Options are the possibilities available to me.
If my options are limited, then my choices are limited too. Simple.
That’s why it’s not just about “making the right choice.” The real work is in creating more options by learning new skills, exploring new paths and building new connections where necessary.
Because the truth is this: better options lead to better choices.
One Thing You Should Try
This week, dare yourself to create just one new option for your future.
It could be anything really, just think through it and create an extra option.
What about you?
What’s One Thing you’re doing, learning or suggest i should try?
Reply, I actually read them.
With love + light always,
