I’ve been thinking — what if money actually had a moral purpose?
Would we treat it differently? Would we build differently? Hmm.
We’re about to figure that out real soon.
Welcome to another edition of The One Thing Newsletter with That Tech Babe.
April was wilddd for me — in the best and toughest ways. It stretched me in places I didn’t even know needed stretching.
What about you? How’s April treating you?
One Thing I’m Doing:
Communicating better.
This past week, my team and I hosted a Tech for Social Impact event. And you know one thing I made sure of? Clear communication.
— I told the team exactly what I expected.
— At work I shared challenges early when I knew I might miss a deadline.
— I didn’t just share the problems — I also shared possible solutions too.
Honestly, for me it’s not even about “having hard conversations.
It’s just about respecting people enough to keep them in the loop instead of leaving them guessing.
(Trust me, a lot of wahala in life can be avoided this way.)
One Thing I’m Learning
This month, the Limitless Club hosted a Public Lecture themed around Money.
I couldn’t attend (life happened), but thankfully I caught a solid recap on LinkedIn.
And wow, it reframed money for me completely:
Money isn’t just something to “have.” It’s a tool, a test and an opportunity to build something that lasts.
Often time It’s so easy to chase money as the goal — but it’s really just a resource for building skills, relationships, impact, and a life that lasts longer than the cash itself.
(And yes, they even talked about marrying for money lmaoo — spicy gist that made me realize how much I missed!)
Other timeless money principles from the lecture:
Delay gratification
Build skills
Work meaningfully
Be patient
Focus on growth
And maybe most importantly —
Money can open doors, but how you manage it — and what you build with it — is what truly matters.
Big head-turner for me honestly.
PS: If you want the full gist, here’s the [recap link].
One Thing You Should Try:
Audit your relationship with money.
This week, take a moment to ask yourself:
• What does money mean to me?
• How am I using it to build something lasting?
• Am I chasing it or working with it?
It might just change the way you move. (It’s already shifting mine.)
Now Over to You
What’s one thing you’re doing, one thing you’re learning and one thing you think I should try this week?
I love reading your replies — don’t leave me hanging!
Until next Monday,
Keep showing up, keep growing.
With Love 💗
